Halls will take center stage on Sept. 22 as officials from four counties, including three West Tennessee counties, work with national leaders to look for ways to give more people opportunities to exercise safely on streets. The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Halls.
Officials and community leaders from Haywood, Humphreys, Lake and Lauderdale Counties will meet with national representatives from Smart Growth America and the National Complete Streets Coalition on Sept. 22 to speak about how to create more bikeable, walkable communities.
A highlight of the event will be a walking tour, called an audit, of Halls to identify ways to make the community more walking and biking friendly and discuss how to apply the findings to other communities.
