Eighteen classes + 83,535 minutes of physical activity + 5,579 miles= more than TEN times across the state of Tennessee!
East Side Intermediate students recently took part in an 8-week physical activity challenge called “Walk Across Tennessee”. Each student logged his/her physical activity after school each day for 8 weeks. Each 15 minutes of activity was equivalent to one mile. At the end of the 8 weeks, East Side students blew everyone’s expectations out of the water. Not only did the students track enough miles to have walked across the state once, they walked across the state of Tennessee more than an TEN times.
